THE OLD WAY: Most people empty their holding tanks when they are full, smelly, or on the way home from a trip. Ideally, standard procedure is to empty the tank 100% and turn the tank flusher on until the tank runs clear. Then shut the valve, add a few bowls of water and another dose of whatever product that is being used IF you are going to continue using the RV or leave it sit dry. That was good advice for the technology of the day. It has a few inherent problems, like the tanks don’t actually rinse clear and the odor will come right back, but it was the best we could do.
THE NEW WAY WITH TankTechsRx: When it is time to empty the tanks, pull the handle and release most of the water and effluent, but NOT all of it. When the sewer hose is about ½ to 1/3 full shut the handle and trap the water in the tank. Add ½ oz (2 caps) of TankTechsRx down the toilet and kitchen sink. Your done! NO RINSING or flushing unless you are winterizing.
WHY LEAVE SEWAGE IN THE TANK, THAT’S GROSS! It would be for a deodorant treatment, but with TankTechsRx what you leave behind is a little food for the probiotic mother culture to feed on. Odor will not be an issue. Harmful bacterial will not be an issue. The sludge that is left in the belly in the tank that will not flush out anyway will be consumed. By leaving some behind TankTechsRx in your tank will continue to clean it for you! (Frankly it will do a better job anyway).
